A life lays broken, fallen by the wayside. The world passes by mocking and kicking, sending dirt like shame to taint every strewn piece. Deemed as worthless and ugly, the shards are tossed away. And the world moves on. But its Maker does not. From on high He looks and sees and longs to hold the work of His hands, the life He breathed into now despised and rejected. He bends down and slowly begins to collect every broken piece. Some He finds buried in mud or dusted with debris while others lay in plain sight for all to see; but every bit of broken brings one thought to the Maker as He reaches down to lift and carry them close— This is not as it should be. He pours out His Spirit like water onto the dry and barren and lays the life back on His Potter’s wheel. He smiles. “I will use this. This is whom I will display my glory through.” He chooses the weak. And as that renewed life walks the earth’s face a large impression is laid. Hearts look and are amazed. “Who could have done this?” they exclaim. Peering over at the foot prints made by the restored soul they find them still rather small and faint. But then their eyes behold majestic markings running along beside—the foot prints of the King. And His power is perfected, His strength is glorified. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
